Documents
At its simplest, Fundamento can be used as a straightforward rich-text editor. But Documents stored in Fundamento can contain a lot more than plain text. Every Document you create will consist of many “blocks” representing content you add - be it a text, an image, or a table. Blocks can be reordered however you want.
Here’s just one example Document with different block types pointed out:
Document versioning
Newly created Document is in DRAFT
mode. Any edit made to it is instantly reflected to
anyone else visiting that Document. This allows rapid collaboration with other people on
the initial versions of Documents. When Document contents are fleshed enough to capture
them in the first document Version hit Update
button:
Location of Update button
That will move Document out of DRAFT
mode. From now on, everyone visiting this Document
will be directed to the most recent document Version in read-only mode. For further
fleshing out the contents of the Document users need to explicitly enter edit mode again
by clicking Edit
button:
Edit mode behaves like DRAFT
mode: any edit made to the document is instantly reflected
to anyone else who also entered edit mode. Changes made in edit mode are not visible
for users just viewing the Document - a new Version must be created first by clicking
Update
button again.
You can create as many document Versions as you wish. To view historical Version of the
document use •••
menu:

Organizing documents
You can freely reorder and nest documents within Space. To do that, just drag’n’drop items in the left side bar.
Moving documents between Spaces
To move Document to another Space use •••
menu:
Starring documents
You can mark Document as favorite one by clicking star ☆
button:
Favorite Documents and Tables are easily accessible from the Dashboard view:
Deleting documents
You can Archive or Delete documents using •••
menu. Archived documents are visible only
for users who toggle Show archived
(in the bottom-left side of work view):
Deleted documents are purged from the system irreversibly.
Sharing documents outside Organization
To share document with anyone (even with a person having no account on Fundamento) use Share
button:
Sharing document with anyone, step 1
When you share document, anyone with the link can view this document (but not edit). You are
the person who decides whom you will send this link to.
Sharing document with anyone, step 2
To invalidate the link and effectively stop sharing the document use Refresh
or Delete
buttons.
